Enhancing employability is always the top concern of fresh graduates, as well as of employers, educational institutions and policy planners. The study focuses on evaluating the employability of the one-year fresh graduates in Vietnam and measuring the influence of such factors as study field, graduation ranking and pre-graduation work experience on different dimensions of the graduates’ employability like job position, salary, type of contract. Based on the survey data source from MOTIVE Project (2022), the research results show that the majority of the graduates could get a job within one year since their graduation. Graduation rank and field of study are weakly correlated with the likelihood of finding a job, while pre-graduation work experience has positive impact on different aspects of employment status. From these results, the authors propose some recommendations to support higher education institutions in improving the quality of their training programs, thereby improving the employability of young graduates in Vietnam.
