Graduates' profile reports 2

AlmaLaurea (AL) is an Inter-university non-profit Consortium set up in Italy in 1994. Nowadays it involves 72 Universities and approximately 90% of Italian graduates. The Consortium is supported by the universities taking part in it, by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and by all companies and institutions using its selection and recruitment services. Since 1994, AlmaLaurea aims at giving a concrete response to the difficulties of young people entering the labour market, monitoring the quality of the educational processes of graduates and facilitating the matching of demand/supply of qualified labour. AL represents almost 90% of graduates in Italy, its databank including approximately 2,000,000 CVs. The AL’s online graduates CV databank allows firms to search for the best profile to be recruited, mobilizing up to 100 search parameters (nationality, academic path, technical and linguistic skills, job experiences, etc.). On the other side, graduates are able to apply online to the traineeship/job offers published by firms. The online CV databank is a powerful tool that improves the supply/demand match of graduates and their transnational mobility.  AL analyzes every year graduates' characteristics and performances, allowing a direct comparison between different courses, faculties and universities through the conduction of the annual graduates’ profile survey; it analyzes also the employment condition of graduates at 1, 3 and 5 years after graduation through the correspondent annual surveys.  This complete, periodic, well-timed and updated documentation is provided to the Governing bodies of the universities, part of the consortium, to Committees dealing with Teaching Activities and Career Guidance and made available to stakeholders, as a solid basis for fostering decision-making processes and activity planning. Since 2004, AL has undertaken a strong process of internationalization, for the establishment of universities networks and cooperation for graduates database’s design and enhancement in third countries. International cooperation have been established with EU and Neighbouring countries, Southern Med, Latin American and Asian countries with the EU recently approving 3-year (2012-2015) cooperation projects in the Med Area and neighbouring countries.
